A beloved climbing annual celebrated for its exquisite fragrance and abundant pastel-to-vivid blooms. Sweet Peas excel on trellises, fences, and arches, providing long-lasting cut flowers and charming garden presence. Plants typically reach 120–200 cm depending on support and variety.
Sowing:
Sow outdoors early when soil reaches 10–15°C, or start indoors 4–6 weeks earlier. Sow seeds 2–3 cm deep. Soaking seeds before sowing can improve germination.
Planting:
Transplant or thin seedlings to 10–15 cm apart. Provide strong vertical support from the start—netting, wire, or trellis. Thrives in full sun with well-drained soil.
Harvesting (Cut Flowers):
Harvest when blooms are just opening for best fragrance and vase life. Frequent cutting encourages continuous flowering and prevents seed set.
Fertility Recommendation:
Moderate feeder. Enrich soil with compost prior to planting.
