Pumpkin 'Red Kuri'

A striking orange-skinned winter squash prized for its chestnut-like flavour and smooth, velvety flesh. Red Kuri matures early, producing generous yields of tear-drop–shaped fruits that store exceptionally well. Excellent for roasting, soups, and purees. Vigorous vines thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. Approx. 110 days to maturity.

Sowing:
Start indoors 3–4 weeks before last frost or direct sow after soil warms to at least 20°C .

Planting:
Space plants 120 – 200 cm apart. Prefers full sun and loose, fertile, well-drained soil.

Harvesting:
Harvest when rinds are firm and fully coloured, and before hard frost. Cut with a short stem attached. Cure in a warm, dry place for 10–14 days to improve storage and flavour.

Fertility Recommendation:
Moderate to heavy feeder. Incorporate compost or well-rotted manure before planting.
