This is a lovely small variety of chilli that can be grown in a sunny porch or conservatory (or windowsill with care) and it wont get too tall or straggly. Its also quite undemanding to keep although a couple of applications of tomato fertilizer will secure more fruit.
It was originally sourced from Realseed in the UK before I moved to Ireland several years ago and I have saved the seed every year. It grows about a foot high and wide and a 2 litre pot would be more than adequate for it, although it would benefit from some bonemeal or other fertilizer added to the compost.
The fruits which are produced in profusion, start off green and then go through interesting cycle of colours from mauve, purple and even black before turning glossy red. It makes an attractive houseplant in its own right quite apart from being edible.
The fruits are medium heat and 4 or 5 in a curry or chilli are adequate or you can add more if you prefer. They would also be nice stuffed with cream cheese if the seeds were removed first. They freeze well in zip lock bags for a winter supply.
