This is a large beefsteak Tomato with a deep mahogany colouring and like all dark coloured tomatoes, the taste is said to be more complex (I dont eat tomatoes myself so cant comment!) It is apparently very popular with chefs.
I particularly like it because it only grows to about 1.2 metres tall so it does not crowd or shade out the greenhouse and can be grown in front of taller varieties. It is also very productive and seems a little hardier than some other varieties and has a high germination rate. I have only grown it in a polycarbonate tunnel so cannot comment on its suitability for growing outside.
The fruits are very large and you may need to support the odd truss if there are several fruits attached.
It is a quite fleshy tomato and not at all watery or seedy (in fact it contains hardly any seed).
