Senshyu Onion (Allium cepa)


Senshyu Onion is a Japanese variety known for its sweet, mild flavor and distinctive yellow skin. It is a hardy, long-day onion that can be harvested as a mature bulb or green onion. This versatile onion is great for cooking and can be stored for several months.

Sowing Indoors: Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost.
 
Location:Prefers full sun.

Soil:Thrives in well-drained, fertile soil with a pH of 6.0 to 7.0.

Watering: Water regularly, keeping the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.

Growth:Onions typically take 100-120 days to mature. Harvest when the tops start to fall over and turn brown
Care: Apply mulch to suppress weeds and conserve moisture. Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer at planting and again during the growing season.
