Swan River daisy -Brachyscome iberidifolia-

A charming Australian wildflower renowned for its delicate, daisy-like blooms and fine, feathery foliage. Swan River Daisy produces a profusion of small flowers. Its airy growth habit and long flowering season make it a beautiful addition to cottage gardens, borders, rock gardens, containers, and hanging baskets. Easy to grow and naturally graceful, this delightful annual brings a soft splash of blue to the summer garden.

Sowing:
Sow seeds indoors in late winter to early spring, or directly outdoors once the risk of severe frost has passed. Scatter seeds onto the surface of fine, moist seed compost.

Planting:
Plant outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. Choose a sunny position or light partial shade with well-drained soil. Space plants approximately 20–30 cm apart to allow them to develop into attractive, spreading clumps. Swan River Daisy is also well suited to pots, window boxes, and hanging baskets, where its delicate foliage and abundant flowers create a soft, cascading effect.

Flowering and Maintenance:
Expect flowering from late spring or early summer through to autumn, depending on sowing time and growing conditions. The daisy-like blooms provide a delicate display of colour throughout the warmer months. Water during dry spells, allowing the soil to drain freely between watering.

Fertility Recommendation:
Prefers moderately fertile, well-drained soil enriched with a little mature compost. Avoid excessively rich soil or heavy applications of nitrogen, which can encourage leafy growth at the expense of flowers. If growing in containers, apply a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer periodically during active growth. Ensure pots and hanging baskets have adequate drainage to prevent waterlogged roots.
