Cucumber Crystal Lemon Seeds

Cucumis Sativus

An unusual Heirloom variety that produces an apple-shaped cucumber with lemon-coloured skin and lime-green flesh. They have a mild, sweet taste that is not bitter. It can be grown outside or in a polytunnel or glasshouse.

Average number of seeds: 14

Open-pollinated chemical-free seeds. Grown and saved in Wexford, Ireland.

How to sow:The temperature must be 18-20C to ensure the best germination. Sow the seeds on their sides 2.5cm deep in small pots in peat-free compost. Plant 50cm apart. To avoid frosts, it can be grown undercover or outside from late May. Grow them up a string or support them with bamboo.

Plant outdoors: May to July

How to cook:One of our favourite cucumbers to eat raw as a snack or cut up as a side dish for barbecue gatherings. Definitely a crowd-pleaser as it is not bitter. Delicious with mint and dill. It can also be grated and used in a raita and tzatziki sauce.
